WiFi Networks

FBK offers several WiFi networks inside his buildings and started some federations with public and private networks which cover various geographical areas, to allow the access to these networks using the trusted credentials. In this FAQ are explained the differences between some of these networks.

  • GuestsFBK
    • The WiFi GuestsFBK network, an unencrypted network with Internet browsing through web portal authentication, is available throughout FBK locations. The browser is automatically redirected to the authentication portal at the time of first connection to the Internet.
    • All employees of the Foundation and partner organizations with an active login can access the portal with their email address and password.
    • Instead of user credentials, guests can access the network by registering an Italian mobile phone number on the web portal access page; the password is sent via SMS to the number indicated. In this case the credentials are valid limited to the current day.
    • For legal reasons, only Italian mobile phone numbers can be registered; in other cases users can request access credentials either by contacting either the secretaries or sending an e-mail to .
    • In order to receive the access password, users must accept the data processing policy and GuestsFBK network use terms and conditions of the on the registration page.

  • EduRoam
    • Eduroam (http://www.eduroam.org) is the secure, world-wide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community. Eduroam allows students, researchers and staff from participating institutions to obtain Internet connectivity across campus and when visiting other participating institutions by simply opening their laptop.
    • To authenticate please enter your trusted FBK credentials adding the “fbkeduroam.it” domain.
    • The Map of eduroam members is available here http://www.eduroam.org/.
    • To join Eduroam (try from an FBK building), just select "eduroam" among the available WiFi networks, connect and enter your "username@fbkeduroam.it" and "password". The saved connection should work in every eduroam site in the world. In some cases, however (particular combinations of computer/operating system/network drivers), it may be necessary to manually configure the connection the first time.

  • @Free_Luna
    • @Free_Luna is a Trentino-wide WiFi network created by Futur3, with more than 1,200 access points installed.
    • To connect your device to the @Free_Luna WiFi network: From the authentication page, click on "Accedi tramite FBK". In the next page, enter your trusted FBK credentials.
  • TrentinoNetwork
    • TrentinoNetwork is a Trentino-wide WiFi network with more than 700 access points installed.
    • The map of access points is available here: http://www.trentinonetwork.it/tocca-con-mano/la-mappatura-della-rete.
    • To connect your device to the TrentinoNetwork WiFi network: from the authentication page click on the FBK logo. In the next page. enter your trusted FBK credentials.
